Dear Sorensen family, I'm so sorry that you lost both Jan & Ken so close in time. And yet, they really couldn't live apart for very long. The Arthur family has enjoyed knowing them and sharing life stories together. May they rest in peace together. Dearest Sorenson family, both Ken and Jan are one of my favorite parents I’ve ever met in my life. I was sad to hear about their passing in the past month or so. I live in Cold Spring, Minnesota now but I visit Boulder once or twice a year and every time I go by your house on Mapleton Avenue on my way to my brother’s house up Sunshine Canyon I always wonder how your parents and the rest of the family are doing. My brother Charles just sent me the article today from the newspaper. Please accept my deepest condolences to all of you. I only have the best memories of your whole family. I miss talking to Ken about his coin collection and Jan about plants and house projects. Jan was always a real fireball, full of energy, ideas and the both of them were knowledgeable and history buffs. I miss all of you and am thankful for the everlasting memories. Jan was a kind, funny and generous woman. I worked with her for server also years and always marveled at her commitment to walking several miles very early each morning before work. She and Ken hosted fun dinners and it was always interesting to hear about their travels and views of the world. I enjoy her accent and sense of humor as well as her “get it done” attitude. She was a loyal friend who loved others and she was loved! She will be missed and I am better for having her in my life! Debra A.
