Obituary of Charles Robert Travis

Charles Robert “Bob” Travis, 81, of Boulder died December 26, 2021, in Longmont, CO. He was born to Carl and Esther (Anderson) Travis October 7, 1940. He married Ella Jackson on September 10, 1961, in Hotchkiss, CO. She survives, as do their children, Leslie (husband Bill) Jones of Johnstown, CO, and Clyde (wife Liese) Travis of Boulder, and two grandchildren, Carl and Katherine Travis. Bob was proud to have lived all his life with a Boulder address. He graduated from Boulder High in 1958, and from the CU Business School in 1963 with a degree in accounting. Bob’s life work was real estate and he was always self-employed. He was a Realtor with a broker’s license from 1976. He retired after more than 40 years because of Parkinson’s disease. Bob was an independent fee appraiser and did work for the Colorado Department of Highways (CDOT), the United States Forest Service, the Denver Water Board, several municipalities, and many individuals. His highway right-of-way work included I-70 in Clear Creek and Gilpin Counties, Highway 287 in Boulder and Broomfield counties, as well as assignments in Adams, Park, Summit. Ouray, Jefferson counties. He was a qualified witness in the District Courts in Adams, Boulder, and Jefferson Counties. Bob joined Boulder 14 A.F. & A. M. in 1976, served as Master of the Lodge in 1983 and 2006. He served the Grand Lodge as Grand Orator in 2003 and as Grand Chaplain in 2004. He was a member of several other masonic groups including El-Jebel Shrine. He loved music and had been a member of the Boulder High and CU marching bands. He was a great supporter of music in schools and supported the Colorado Masonic Band Camp. He was a member of Valmont Community Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. There will be a Celebration of Life later this year.
