On January 11, 1931 Paul was born in Bridgeport, Nebraska. Paul had a newspaper route for 3 years. Then, he worked at the Ice Plant. His mom drove truck and Paul delivered the ice to various homes on the route. Back then they had Ice Boxes, not refrigerators. Paul dropped out of school at the end of 10th grade. He got a job at the Sioux Ordinance Depot, driving a forklift for one year, then got a job helping in a garage. In June, 1950 the Draft Board wanted him so instead of being drafted, he joined the Navy in the same month. In June, 1952 Norma flew to the Hawaiian Islands and Paul and Norma got married on June 21, 1952 in Wahiawa, Hawaii. He was discharged from the Navy in April, 1954. They moved to Seattle, Washington and Paul got a job at the Boeing Aircraft factory. They bought a house located at 11247 Crestwood Drive. They got settled into work and family life. In 1956 Paul applied at Edison Technical School to learn to be a machinist. He attended 2 years of school from 8 am to 3:30 p.m. then he went on to Boeing from 4:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Then he went on to Job Training for two years. In the middle of his apprenticeship, the school wanted a high school diploma.Paul applied at American School and finished his work to obtain his diploma in one year with Norma’s good help. He completed his apprenticeship in 1960. Norma got asthma and the doctor said to move to a dryer climate. In June 1961, we moved to Denver, He got a job at Continental Airlines, working there for six years, then worked at Ball Bros. for six years. He then started his own business until retiring. Paul’s favorite Bible verses is John 14:1-14. “Let not your heart be troubled; if you believe in God, believe in me.” Galatians 5:22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law.” Hebrews 4:15-16: “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Norma went to be with Jesus September 10, 1997. In January, 1999, Paul met Lady Verlyn Fast. She loves the Lord, going to church, likes Bible studies and teaches once a month. They got married on October 18, 1999 in Branson, Missouri. Paul and Norma had four children: Dale, Sharlene, Janette, and Darold Verlyn had one daughter, Tanya Light. We live in Denver, next door to the Light family. Paul added: With this virus, now we are hibernating – practicing how to become hermits! I am spending my time reading and studying God’s Word, doing hobbies, etc. I HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL IN HEAVEN!
