Obituary of Julie Mock

Julie Deuth Mock was a bright vibrant sparkling light to all that knew her. She was fierce--generous, kind, funny, and loyal---a true force of nature. Julie was born in Freeport, Illinois to Milton Claire Deuth and Selma Gohke Deuth. She was a devoted daughter throughout their lives. After getting a degree in Medical Records, Julie moved to Boulder where she worked at Wardenberg Student Health at CU. After marrying Gail Mock, Julie worked at Mock Realty and was a major contributor to the success of the family company. Julie was a dear friend to so many. Her infectious laugh was a gift, but more importantly her compassion and attention to those in need was unmatched. Being with Julie, also known as Hoolio, was to fill up on her fabulous meals--always way more than enough--, to enjoy her gracious home, to play silly games and laugh hysterically until you peed your pants, to receive her funny cards--always on time, to admire her very chic fashion sense and to benefit from her deep affectionate friendship. Julie was a passionate and intense woman, especially with those she loved the most. She and Gail were devoted to each other and committed to creating a wonderful family for Natalie and Brian, reflected in the myriad of photos that greeted everyone who came through the door. Julie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gail Mock, her son Brian Mock, his wife Laura and their children John James (JJ) and Ruby Mae of Chapel Hill, NC, and her daughter Natalie Mock of Boulder. She is also survived by an enormous circle of dear friends and special "adopted" kids who benefitted from her nurturing spirit. Her beloved Paxton, fourth in line of their Scottish terriers will miss her terribly. The family plans to hold a reception to remember and celebrate her life in the summer.
