Obituary of Carl Morck

Carl "Bud" Morck died on October 29th, 2013 at TRU Hospice Care Center in Louisville, Colorado. He was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Carl W. and Myrtle Morck. The family moved to Algona, Iowa in 1933. After graduating from Algona High School he attended the University of Colorado where he was active in the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He left school in 1943 to volunteer for the Army Air Corps and served in the China, Burma, India theatre in WWII as an aerial photographer. Upon return from his service he joined the family business in Algona and was an active member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Iowa. In 1962 he began a 26 year career with the Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Co. as a sales representative for the State of Colorado. He was pleased to move with his family back to Boulder, the town he came to love during his college years. His passions included family, flying, fishing, golf, CU football and traveling. He became a licensed pilot at the age of 17, loved his years of flying with the military, and continued to enjoy airplanes and flight his entire life. There were few lakes and streams in Colorado he had not fished. He eagerly shared his interests with friends, children and grandchildren. Carl is survived by Shirley, his wife of 66 years, his son William David Morck (Kathe) of Castle Valley, Utah, and his daughter Mary Sorine Williams (John) of Louisville, Colorado and his grandchildren, Niels Morck, Makenna Morck and Angelique Williams. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 9, 2013 at St. Aidans Episcopal Church, 2425 Colorado Ave., Boulder, CO 80302. A reception at the church will follow the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Aidans Episcopal Church or TRU Hospice Care, 2594 Trailridge Dr. East, Lafayette, CO 80026.
