I have so many wonderful memories of Ed Trumble. We first met in 1990 at the Boulder Country Club where we had both signed up for golf lessons. We were paired to learn together. While I never learned to enjoy golf very much, I sure did learn to Love Ed right from the start. He was so funny, always smiling with that wonderful twinkle in his eye. It wasn't long before he introduced me to his daughter, Jane, and then to the rest of the family. It was truly a very blessed and lucky day for me to be paired with Ed.
Ed shared his life story with me and soon our mutually entrepreneurially beating hearts knew a life-long friendship was unfolding. Over the years, it's been so wonderful to see his generosity flourish in such considerate and far reaching ways. He just knew how to add the right touch of "Ed Kindness" to everyday actions.
Ed would always ask about what was happening in our lives. He was both interested and interesting. In all my years of knowing Ed, I have never heard a single person utter a single bad syllable about him. I don't think anyone truly ever had a bad thought about Ed. His kindness to his family throughout the years was always a shining example on how to be a loving family member.
Ed is very loved by his family; he was very cherished by his community; and he will always be very respected and appreciated by those who have been touched by his far reaching generosity. Ed employed so many people in good jobs; the kind of jobs that let them buy a home, have a family, and save for retirement. Those jobs were life changing for lots in my adopted hometown. Ed was a self made man and never lost his common touch even when he was walking with Presidents. Truly an extraordinary man who will be very missed by all of us.
Ed, it's time to turn off your engine. You are now on God's time and it's a slow steady simmer from here on out. You have run your race and you finished with flying colors and have earned the love and respect of all you met.
Thank you, Ed, for all you have done to make Boulder, Colorado a great small town. Thank you for being the kind of person we all seek to emulate. Rest in Peace, my friend. You have lived your life well by sterling example.
I cherish our last time together, in Jane's beautiful Gunbarrel home, for Father's Day weekend. It was an emotional meeting for me because, in my heart, I knew it would be our last time together. I will carry your memories with me always.
Condolences to the family. You were all so blessed to have this man as family and the head of your family. My love to you all, Marcia Reece
