I met Gordy when he was walking home from the first day of First Grade at Buena Vista. We lived a block apart on Cucharras Street. That was in 1949. He was always the tall, handsome guy and a star on the high school team. During 9/11 Gordy, his lovely wife and I were stranded in San Francisco because of the cancellation of flights and we just happened to be at the Westin and saw each other in the lobby. We had a good time talking and I reminded him of that day in first grade when he thought I was a kindergartner and he called me a "kindergarten baby". I will miss his happy face at our next high school reunion. Memories, pressed between the pages of our lives. I will see you again old friend.
