Obituary of Diane West

Diane A. West, of Boulder, died July 24, 2013 at her residence. She was 84. Private family graveside services will be held at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church Cemetery in Boulder. Generous and caring, our mother journeyed through life with love and compassion. Her strength, resolve, and keen perceptions showed us the way towards wisdom. With family near and afar, she is missed by many. Diane was born in Rovne`, Czechoslovakia on January 15th, 1929. She was the daughter of George and Mary Holodnak. Later moving to Chicago, Illinois, Diane graduated from Gage Park High School. Diane moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1988. She kept active working at the Boulder Valley Asthma and Allergy Clinic as a bookkeeper and participating in the Slovak Society of Colorado. Diane was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by a daughter, Maureen West of Boulder, Colo.; son, Thomas West (wife Linda) of Boulder, Colo.; brother, Robert Holden of Boulder, Colo.; grandchildren (Christopher West, Andrea and David Molina, Sarah West Alber) and great-grandchild, Lauralyn Alber.
