Obituary of Vera M. Winston

Vera M. "Vickie" Winston of Boulder died Friday, November 17, 2017, at Frasier Meadows Health Care Center. She was 95. 

A Celebration of Vickie's life will be held in the Assembly Room at Frasier Meadows, 350 Ponca Place, Boulder, CO 80303, on January 6,
2018, at 10:30 AM. A reception will follow.

Vickie was born to Marcus C. and Tillie (Preissel) Myers on May 21, 1922, in Springfield, MA, where she grew up and attended Classical High School. After receiving her Bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA, Vickie obtained her Master's 
degree from the Smith College School of Social Work. She worked for Rockland State Hospital in Nyak, NY, prior to her marriage on June
12, 1948, to Paul Winston in Springfield, MA. After the couple moved to Boulder in 1952, Vickie briefly worked for the Boulder County Child Welfare Department. She was an active volunteer all her life.

Vickie is survived by her daughter, Gretchen Winston (Kenneth) May of Lakewood, CO; and granddaughters Rosalind A. May of Denver, and Hilary L. (Darryl Aucoin) May of Randolph, NJ.
