Dear friends. Chuck Bush lived in the unit next to ours, in an apartment building on University Avenue In Ithaca during the 1963 - 64 school year. Chuck was a married student, and Heather was a baby in the building.
One evening there, Chuck was very sure that he would soon be having visitors who would arrive and officially “tap” him for membership in Red Key, the prestigious athletic Honorary. But, selection for Red Key membership is always a “surprise,” and the suspense of waiting for the visitation was driving him nuts. So Chuck called me out into the hallway and said, “Listen, I just have to share this with someone. I’m going to be tapped for Red Key tonight, I am sure. Help me wait and hold high hopes.” And he swore me to secrecy.
Chuck was a fine guy and I am very sorry for your loss.

Witty, smart, competitive, athletic, kind, ornery, and handsome! That's the way I'll always remember my sweet friend, Chuckles. There is no doubt in my mind that he is in a better place now and will be our guardian angel. What an incredible blessing to have spent time with him and have been his friend and caregiver for the last 18 months. I will miss his smile, his winks, and his charm. I love him dearly and will forever cherish the memories of my time with him. My love to all of the Bush family. How lucky I am to have had you all in my life! Oh....and Happy Birthday today in Heaven, Chuckles! :-)

Heidi, Kathy, Heather and Family,
The time I met your dad I could see what a wonderful man he was and the love he had for his daughters! And, I remember that BIG smile of his!
Losing such a strong figure in life is one of the hardest things many of us will go through. When you think of him, let memories of the times you shared give you comfort. His life was rich because of all of you.
Wishing you all peace and love during this hard time.

By the time I met Chuck he was pushing 70. His eyes lit up when I told him I had wrestled in high school. We quickly figured out that we both had wrestled the same weight. I thought he was going to challenge me to a bout. I’m pretty sure he would have won!

I own a pretty successful concrete restoration co. I walked into CCS Supply as a total green horn. I decided to get into the repair business. Chuck was the first person I talked to! He said son, we have some things to discuss. Grab a couple beers out of that beer fridge. We went to the side of the building. Talked for a long time. Then he loaded me up w/ things to experiment with. Now over 25 years later I raised 4 boys w/ that business. The employees at that time Jeff, Ron & Chris, I still deal with at TMA. The energy, enthusiasm, and humor can not be forgotten. He should be missed by all.

As a neighbor of Chuck's for 27 years I can tell you he was an incredible man that brightened our Arvada neighborhood. Always a pleasure to talk too, he was never at a loss for conversation. Chuck was an icon in the neighborhood and will be missed by the generations that were raised in Lamplighter and knew him so well.
I want to offer my condolences to his family and friends for the loss of such a good man. Chuck was one of those men who made you appreciate life and encouraged you to live it to the fullest. Even as his health was failing you could not help but admire his strength, his determination, and his tenacity! There was never any quit in Chuck.
My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. Please know Chuck's legacy will live on in our neighborhood! He has been, and will be deeply missed.

I am so sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences. May the God of all comfort sustain you as you await the promises found at John 5:28,29 and Rev. 21:4 where God promises to do away with all the things that cause us suffering and pain including death here on the earth forever. (Psalm 37:29) It is my sincere hope that these thoughts comfort your family at this time.

This is a beautiful summation and photo of Chuck. His light still shines brightly, just from a distance. He lives, just not weighed down by the body he was in. I think Chuck is out there right now, challenging the angels to an arm wrestling match :-) I will always love him and remember the fun times with him. Blessings and Love to your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I thoroughly enjoyed working for Charles taking care of his yard. He was such a nice man and we used to have so much fun talking, laughing and telling each other jokes. One thing we had in common is both of us used to wrestle in our younger years. We had many conversations about wrestling, and Charles used to tease me and ask if I wanted to wrestle him. It was a pleasure knowing Charles and I value the friendship that we had. He will definitely be missed.

Dad, you were the best provider in the world. You were always there for us through thick & thin. You loved your kids and grandkids so much & we all loved you as our family patriarch. You have taught us all so many things we will never forget. We will miss all of the ways you made us laugh. Thank god we still have so many memories that keep the laughter going even though we're grieving. I am so sorry you didn't get more time on this planet. Hopefully I'll see you on the other side where we can have many more laughs.
