Obituary of Mary Matz

Beloved wife and mother Mary Ann died at home. Born to Edward and Lydia (Hamilton) Starks in Appleton, Wisconsin, she was a summa graduate of Lawrence University, and an accomplished vocalist, fibre artist, and calligrapher. She was a mathematician with the National Bureau of Standards before she became a full time homemaker for her husband and children. To celebrate her entrance into eternal life, A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Saint Martin de Porres church, 3300 Table Mesa Drive, Boulder. Father Joseph Tran will be the Celebrant. A visitation with the family present will be held at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow the Mass in the Parish hall. She is survived by her husband Karl, whom she married in 1952, and their children: Allison (Ben) Mahlberg, Nicholas Matz, Dina (Herb) Siegel, Andrew (Liz) Matz, Kristin (Jay) Quadracci, Angela (David Payer) Matz; grandchildren Logan and Kieran Matz, Nia and Stiano Quadracci; and brother Dean and sister Cheryl.
