Obituary of Roy Edward Pringle

Roy Edward Pringle, 89, of Boulder, died peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Brookdale Senior Living Center. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1680 Balsam Ave., Boulder, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, 3016 Kalmia, Boulder. Roy was born in Bristol, WI on November 12, 1926 to Robert D. and Florence (Jensen) Pringle. He married the love of his life, Barbara J. Kirchner, on November 4, 1950 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bristol, WI. After growing up and farming in Bristol, WI for many years, he moved to Boulder with his young family in 1962. He worked and retired from Flatirons Paving Company in Boulder in 1991. He also worked and rose to the rank of Sgt. for the Boulder Reserve Police Force. He has been an active member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church since 1962. In addition to spending time with his precious family, he loved to go hunting, fishing, snow skiing, and was an avid Colorado Buffaloes football fan. Roy is survived by his wife, Barbara; his sister, Amy Jones, of Santa Barbara, CA; brother, Robert (Julie) of Bristol, WI; and sister, Judy (Dale) Sternhagen of Dale, WI; three sons, Kenneth, of Boulder, David (Karen), of Breckenridge, and Tom (Patti), of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Lynsey (Joe) Yokum, Shannon Pringle, Matthew Pringle and Daniel Pringle; and three great grandchildren, Zackary Yokum, Emersyn Yokum, and Jake Willis. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don and William; one sister, Marian Nilsen; and his daughter, Lois Jane. Roy loved Jesus and lived his life in anticipation of the day he would see him face-to-face. While we are sad that he is gone from us, we are glad for him to be home with Christ, whom he loved and served with his whole heart and life. Roy's family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale, as well as the staff and volunteers from TRU Community Care Hospice for the wonderful love and care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Pringle Nature Center, 9800 County Hwy.
