Dolores M. “Dee” Wisotzkey of Longmont died August 16, 2015. She was 83. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 715 Cabrini Drive, Lafayette, CO on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., burial will follow the Mass at Lafayette City Cemetery. Dee was born December 12, 1931 to Clark and Mable Strevig (Esaley) of Hanover, Pennsylvania. She attended Eichelberger High School in Hanover, PA. Dee married Daniel Grier Wisotzkey in Columbia, PA before moving to Colorado in 1951. Together they raised 5 children, and family was always her number one priority. Early on Dee worked evenings, weekends, and then full time for over 20 years with Montgomery Ward to help support her family and develop professionally. She was also a long term member of the American Business Women’s Association promoting professional women and their educational endeavors. She was always generous with her time and volunteered for Boulder Community Hospital, Lafayette Public Library, and as an election judge for Boulder County. Dee enjoyed traveling on family summer road trips, day trips to the Colorado Mountains (her favorite), and subsequently in retirement to more exotic locations with her husband, including Alaska, Nova Scotia, the Panama Canal, and Costa Rica. Her hands were always busy with knitting, cross stitch, and needlepoint making gifts for her family and friends, booties for newborns, and Alaskan caps for those in need. Even in Dee’s later years of declining health, she was well known by all those around her as having an infectious smile, a contagious laugh, and was happy and sweet to everyone she encountered. Dee was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Wisotzkey, grandson, Colin Hostler, son-in-law, David Hostler, and daughter-in-law Mary Wisotzkey. Dee is survived by her three sons, Daniel Gingery Wisotzkey of Lafayette, Robert Grier Wisotzkey of Santa Clara, CO, and Richard James (Lisa Helen Grefrath) Wisotzkey of Brighton, CO; daughters Theresa Mary Hostler of Arlington, TX, Lucy Kaye Mack of Farson, WY, her brother Rodney Louis Strevig of Lockport, LA and sisters Janet Louise Yost of Hanover, PA, Linda Marie Becker of State College, PA. She also is survived by four grandchildren, and two great children. Contributions; Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado, 455 Sherman Street, Suite 500, Denver, CO 80203
