Obituary of Gloria Ellefson

Gloria Elva Ellefson, of Lafayette, died early in the morning on Saturday, February 28, 2015. She was 81. A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 10:30 A.M. at Atonement Lutheran Church, 685 Inca Parkway, Boulder. Private family burial will follow in Green Mountain Cemetery, Boulder. Gloria was born to Roy Nielsen and Elva Urban in Wilton, N.D on August 4, 1933. She graduated with a B.S. in Education from the University of Minnesota. She later went on to receive a Masters in Computer Science from Lesley College. On June 7, 1953 Gloria married Dwight L. Ellefson in Wahpeton, N.D. Shortly afterwards the two of them moved to Colorado. Gloria become a high school math teacher at Littleton High School and Fairview High School, positions she collectively held for over 30 years. Gloria is Survived by her husband Dwight L. Ellefson of Lafayette, CO; her three daughters Debi Shaub of Lafayette, Kristin Bartlett of Lafayette, and Karlin Ellefson of Mead, CO. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jackie Kramer of Castle Pines, CO, Mick Shaub of Erie, CO, and Kyle Bartlett, of Georgetown, CO; as well as four great-grandchildren: Sylvia, Drew, Teddy, and Derek.
