Obituary of Patricia Jean Drever

Patricia Jean Drever, of Louisville, passed away on Oct. 18, 2014. She was 68. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at the Gatehouse Event Center, 1055 S 112th St., in Lafayette. Patty was born on April 2, 1946, in Geneva, Ill., the daughter of Jesse Lance and Martha Lena Witt Lance. She married Thomas Drever, II on Sept. 11, 1965 in Geneva and within a few years they moved to Boulder to raise their family. Patty loved being a mother and never missed her kids’ events, all the while volunteering at different organizations and building a business with Tom. The couple owned Drever Business Systems, manufacturing furniture in Boulder, and together they furnished offices throughout the Boulder and Denver area. She also earned an associate degree in accounting and continued working at the request of many long-time clients even after she retired. She was interested in photography, played bridge with her many friends, loved to ride her bike and she was an avid reader. After Tom died in 2002, she traveled extensively with old and new friends alike. She most recently enjoyed her volunteer work with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Patty couldn’t help but spoil her grandkids ~ often, with a slight smirk, returning them to their respective parents exhausted, with new toys and full of sugar. They were her true joy, ranging in ages from 1 through 20. She was a big presence in Boulder and she will be missed. Patty is survived by her sons James (Keely) Drever of Denver and Brent (Carolyn) Drever of Eagle; daughter Noelle Smith of Parker; brothers Richard (Ginny) Lance of Chestertown, Md., and Marshall Lance of Elburn, Ill., and her seven grandchildren; Mason, Cooper, Jenna, Jake, Logan, Thomas and Calvin. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom.
