Obituary of Doris L. Allen

Doris L. Allen, age 94, of Boulder, passed away on September 15, 2014. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the First Presbyterian Church, Boulder. On December 15, 1919, Doris was born in Washington, D.C. to Charles and Catherine Ludwig. She attended Central High School, and after graduation she went to George Washington University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in education. On June 21, 1941 she married Eugene W. Allen. The couple eventually made their way to Boulder (in 1966) where Eugene became a pastor at the First Presbyterian Church. Upon retirement, they moved to Santa Fe, where they spent the next 15 years. In 1998, they returned to Boulder. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, and by her daughter Catherine. Survivors include her son Denny Allen, daughter Susan Thilmany of Hudson, NY, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
