Obituary of Elizabeth C. Rake

Rake, Elizabeth 1922 - 2014 Elizabeth C. Rake passed away July 27, 2014, at the age of 91, at her residence. She was born in Ellsworth, KS to Richard Cadwell and Mabel Ditzler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard M. (Jack) Harris, her second husband, Dale W. Rake, and her son, Kevin Harris. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Sue Herynk of Lawrence, KS and her son Curtis Lee Harris of Denver, CO. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She loved international travel to six continents, attending grand operas in the USA and Europe, and golf, scoring 3 holes-in-one. A memorial reception will be held in Louisville, CO at the Residences at Balfour, 1336 East Hecla Drive, Boulder, CO 80027, on Friday, August 1st at 5:00 PM, followed by interment in Manhattan, KS. She asked that memorials go to the New York Metropolitan Opera, or your local Salvation Army. We will miss her kindness and enjoyment of life.
