Obituary of Bradley Holcomb

Bradley Clinton Holcomb was born April 8, 1967, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, at 1:08pm on a Saturday into the arms of Wanda and Clint Holcomb. He was their firstborn and only son. He walked at 7 months old, talked by 18 months, and spent the rest of his brief lifetime on this Earth continuing to challenge the norm and carve a journey as unique as he was. Brad was a curious genius, avid reader, philosopher, storyteller, trusted friend, self-taught musician, respected worker, doting father, adoring husband, tinker extraordinaire, jokester, martial arts student and lover and protector of nature. He could solve any puzzle in seconds including a rubiks cube - with one hand behind his back and standing on one foot. This gift was evident in his years as an EMT, dispatching emergency vehicles before GPS even existed, and then as a critical care RN. His colleagues wanted him on their team because nursing was his passion, not a job. He was recruited to help plan for Y2K, and very naturally took a lead role in shaping hospital technology for the rest of his career. He was his mother's medical advocate recently, and played a vital role in her survival after cardiac arrest. Brad touched as many lives with his compassion as he saved in his care. He didn't fear death and was a nurturing comforter. Kids adored him and adults were drawn to him. He gave the most expressive and endearing hugs, with his warmth and joy instantly transferable. He was a teacher and guide to many in his homeschooling community, and will be missed by hundreds of friends and admirers. Above all his loves in life, he loved his family. Bradley was gone too soon on May 14, 2014, leaving his wife Lucretia and children John and Lena, his parents, and sisters Laura Beth and Amanda. He leaves a hole in our hearts but big grins on our faces. Knowing Brad was a gift, but being loved by him was a life treasure. He will never leave us. Lucretia Holcomb
