Obituary of Frances Karnish

Frances Evelyn Jewell Karnish, 97, of Boulder Colorado, died Tuesday, May 20th 2014. She was born to Ida and Wells Jewell, May 5, 1917, in Renova, PA. Frances was one of eight children, six girls and two boys. She graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1936 and married Louis Alex Karnish in 1940, and they resided in Lock Haven, PA. Frances moved to Boulder in 2001 to be near her family. Frances was a loving and loved daughter, sister, aunt, wife and mother. She was passionate about playing the piano in her church and Sunday school, as well as playing bridge and golf and enjoying the company of her friends and family. Frances is survived by her son, Gerald Karnish and daughter-in-law Wendy Karnish, of Boulder; and her sisters Barbara Hall of Williamsport, PA and Mary Jane Keller of Renova, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis, her sisters Sarah White, Vera Kramer, and Edith Devine, and her brothers Neil Jewell and Charles Jewell.
