Obituary of John R. Engle
John R. "Jack" Engle of Erie died Thursday, December 7, 2017, at his residence. He was 66.
Born in Ohio on March 26, 1951, to Robert M. Engle and Mary Helen (Foeller) Engle, Jack attended Benet Academy in Lisle, Illinois, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. He married Helen Bunting on August 16, 1975, and worked for 26 years in sales for Hanes Corporation.
Just two months prior to his death, Jack and Helen relocated from Kingwood, Texas, to Erie, Colorado. Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Everyone who met him was touched by the joy and humor he brought to each day of life. He is dearly loved and will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
Jack was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Robert and Frederick. He is survived by wife Helen Bunting Engle of Erie, CO; son Gregory Engle and daughter Kelly Engle Moran, also of Erie, CO; brothers Thomas Engle of Streamwood, IL, and Edward Engle of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters Sharon Winsauer of Dacula, GA, and Mary Pierce of Lenexa, KS; and two grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at the family residence at 724 Pope Drive, Erie, CO 80516, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2017.
